  • 8 ounces medium pasta shells
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1½ teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 15 ounces tomato sauce
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • 6 ounces extra sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until al dente, then drain.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and brown the ground beef (about 3 to 5 minutes). Drain excess fat.
  3. Add diced onion; sauté until translucent (2 to 3 minutes). Stir in minced garlic, Italian seasoning, paprika, and mustard powder; cook for another minute.
  4. Whisk in flour until lightly browned (about one minute).
  5. Gradually whisk in beef stock and tomato sauce; bring to a boil, then simmer for about 6 to 8 minutes until thickened.
  6. Stir in cooked pasta and heavy cream until heated through.
  7. Mix in cheddar cheese until melted; season with salt and pepper.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!
