  • 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time followed by vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients with sour cream, alternating between them.
  5. Fold in chopped apples and nuts if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle turbinado sugar on top.
  7. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool before serving.
