  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup cream
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 10 allspice berries
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1-inch piece of ginger (sliced)
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate
  • Whipped Cream
  • Vegan marshmallows

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of whole milk, 1 cup of cream, 2 tablespoons of molasses, 10 whole cloves, 10 allspice berries, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 1 sliced inch of ginger over low heat. Bring to a gentle simmer and let steep for 20 minutes.
  2. Strain the mixture to remove solids and return it to low heat. Stir in 1/4 cup cocoa powder and 1/4 cup chopped semi-sweet chocolate until melted and smooth.
  3. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream or vegan marshmallows.
